Conference: What next after #MeToo, the role of Equality Bodies

Human Rights
conference-metoo
Date: Thursday, 24 October 2019 08:30 - 17:30

Venue: Bedford Hotel & Congress Center

Two years after the international outburst of the #MeToo movement, Equinet and UN Human Rights Europe are organizing a conference to unpack the role that national Equality Bodies can play, and the challenges they face, in addressing sexual harassment at the workplace in Europe.

Mandated by EU law to assist victims of sexual harassment in the workplace and to promote gender equality, national equality bodies are highly relevant actors to ensure effective implementation of anti-harassment laws and policies. They do so through direct assistance to victims, but also through collecting data on sexual harassment, conducting research and surveys to help identify gaps, setting-up codes of conduct in the private and public sector, building partnerships with civil society and social partners, issuing recommendations to policy-makers, training and campaigning.

Bringing together European, national and local policy-makers together with Equality bodies from across Europe, the conference is also open to civil society, social partners and the academia, on a first come first serve basis within the limit of the venue capacity.

To join the conference, please register by using this link https://bit.ly/2obLb3c by 11 October.
